Irish Agency Company
This is a company structure whereby a foreign parent company enters into an agency contract with an Irish company.

The Irish Agency Company then acts on behalf of the parent company, and its customers have the benefit of trading with an EU resident, Euro currency entity.

This structure can be beneficial when it is politically or socially expedient to introduce a neutral third party into negotiations between two opposing trading partners. For example, we currently have an agency company which acts as a buffer in transactions between parties in the Lebanon and Algeria.

Agency companies can also be used by individuals to house personal activities such as management consultancy, or to hold investments. The agency company structure allows for protection of the identity of the principal party to the agency contract, as the publicly registered owners of the agency company would be unrelated to the principal.

The agency company can also provide the foreign principal with a foothold in Europe, providing access both to Ireland’s extensive network of tax treaties, and to the option of trading within the EU VAT net.

As with the Image Rights structure, it can also be used as a vehicle to accumulate profits at a low corporate tax rate.
